Dear Families and Students of Campbell School,

Our fourth grade Reading classes have read a book called The Lemonade War, by Jacqueline Davies. This book is about two kids who start a war to see who can make $100 in a week selling lemonade. The character Jessie decides if she wins, she will donate her money to the Animal Rescue League. We made a text to world connection with Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation. Alex was a girl with childhood cancer. She tried to raise money for a cure. This inspired us to do the same.

We are planning our own lemonade stand called Campbell’s Cup for Cancer. We will be donating all of our earnings to Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation to continue helping fight childhood cancer. Please support us by sending in money with your children so they can enjoy a cup at lunchtime. Our stand will happen Monday, April 29th through Friday, May 3rd. This means they can buy a drink each day of that week! Our lemonade will cost only 50 cents per cup. WOW!!!!

If you or someone you know would like to contribute, but cannot visit our stand, we would gladly accept cash donations for supplies or checks payable to Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation.

We thank you for your support. Campbell’s Cup for Cancer wants to help end this childhood disease one cup at a time.
