Municipal Pool Programs

Story Time
A librarian from the Metuchen Library will choose books to read at the baby pool on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 1:00pm. This activity is free.

Adult Fitness Swimming
2012 Adult Fitness Swimming

Starts June 24 and meets every Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday evening from 6:30 – 7:45PM.

Cost is $25 for the season – please make your check payable to Metuchen Municipal Pool.

The sessions will be coached by 2 experienced swimmers and MMP members Todd Schaper and Frank Capron. They will provide written workouts for each session and we will have 2 “long course,” 50 yard lanes reserved for program members each night.

This program is for those members looking to improve their swimming ability, improve their fitness level, meet fellow members interested in swimming, and want to have some fun in the pool. It is designed for members who can swim at least freestyle/crawl and have some experience as at least a lap swimmer. You do not need to have been a competitive swimmer in your youth, but this program is not for beginner swimmers. MMP does offer swim lessons for those looking to learn how to swim.

If you want to take part in the program come to the first session on Sunday, June 24th or any subsequent session. You are welcome to “try” a session prior to paying for the program to make sure it fits your needs or ability.

Water Aerobics
Tuesdays at 1:00pm beginning July 12. This program is free. It is not necessary to pre-register.

The Pool is the Place to be this summer with many special events – Family Fun Days, Float Nights, Teen and Pre-Teen Dances, Movie Nights and Story Hours, etc. Also, swim lessons are offered for the little members. It opens daily at 11:00 a.m. to 8 p.m., except Saturdays and Holidays in which case the pool will open at 10 a.m. The Kiddie Pool hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. for parents and children under 5.
