The Metuchen Public Library’s children’s department will be hosting Read to a Therapy Dog for children ages 5 and up or children who are just starting to read. The dates for this event will be 2/26, 3/12, 3/26, 4/9, and 4/23. The time will be from 4pm to 5pm in the library’s Community Room upstairs.

Libraries are often a quiet place, but when children or adults visit a library and see a dog, the environment may become a little more exciting. Tavish is a happy collie that is eager to listen to beginner readers with challenges including autism spectrum disorder. Reading to Tavish can help anyone that has difficulty reading to gain confidence and build their literacy skills.

Please call the Children’s Room 732-632-8526 x 8532 to register or for more information. Please stop by the library and join the Read to a Therapy Dog event today!
