On Monday, March 25 (during the Metuchen Schools’ Spring Break) at 2 PM, the Metuchen Public Library will host a free teen resume-writing program designed especially for students in 9th through 12th grade. It’s never too early to think about how to present yourself on paper for different occasions: for special high school programs, for interviews with prospective colleges, when applying for internships while you are at college, etc. During this hands-on workshop, participants will learn the important components of a good resume and how to explore opportunities that build experience during the teen years. Sample student resumes will be distributed and each participant will have a chance to work in small groups to begin to outline his/her personal resume. You’ll leave the workshop equipped to write a resume, which you can use and tailor throughout your high school and college careers. Please bring paper or a notebook and a pen or pencil. Space is limited. Metuchen residents only. Register by writing the Young Adult Librarian at KLiss@Lmxac.org.
