THE METUCHEN FARMERS MARKET EXTENDED TO NOV 23RD
The Metuchen Farmers Market is pleased to announce that, due to popular demand, it is expanding its season and will continue to bring delicious Jersey-fresh produce and a wide range of tantalizing edibles to the Metuchen area through November 23rd.
Now in its third year of rejuvenation, the all-volunteer Market Committee has grown this attraction from two farmers plus to a major Saturday happening in Metuchen’s Pearl Street parking lot with seventeen vendors, including four farmers. This represents an overall increase of three vendors compared to last year, with highlighted additions being Whistling Wolf Farm (transitional to organic), Knead Bakery, Passion Fruits Artisanal Ice Pops, 2 Chicks with Chocolate and Neil’s Sharpening Services.
The market, sponsored by the Metuchen Area Chamber of Commerce, is also proud of its ever-increasing interconnections with the Metuchen community, starting with the First Presbyterian Church’s Food Pantry and Camp Kiddie Keep Well receiving weekly donations of produce from Country Stand Farm. The Market also enjoyed the same arrangement with Von Thun’s Farm during the height of the season.
The Market is a community event at so many levels. This year on various market days, the Market has welcomed community groups including Bike|Walk Metuchen, Metuchen EMS, Metuchen Garden Club, First Presbyterian Church Food Pantry, Family Friends, Borough Improvement League, Metuchen/Edison Historical Society and Galleries of Metuchen.
The Metuchen Farmers Market is located in the Pearl Street Parking lot at New and Pearl Streets in the heart of downtown Metuchen. The Market is open every Saturday between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. through November 23rd.
