THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 12: GREENDROP CELEBRATES METUCHEN LOCATION WITH AN OFFICIAL RIBBON CUTTING CEREMONY 

The professional fundraiser provides a convenient opportunity to give during the holiday season

WHAT: On THURSDAY, November 12 from 10 to 12 noonGreenDrop, the organization transforming the way donors support their favorite charities by donating lightly worn clothing, used electronics, and household goods, will celebrate the grand opening of its Metuchen, NJ location with a formal ribbon cutting ceremony.

Joseph Ruffalo, Jr., president of the National Federation of the Blind (NFB) of New Jersey, a GreenDrop partner charity, will deliver remarks about how funds raised through clothing and household good donations at GreenDrop positively impact and support the initiatives of the GreenDrop’s partner charities. Further remarks will be made by Metuchen Borough Representative and Development Commission Head Joann Falkenstein and GreenDrop’s Community Marketing Coordinator Samantha Kresz.

GreenDrop’s newest location opens at 359 Amboy Avenue, at the intersection of Lake and Amboy Avenues, offering Metuchen residents a convenient and safe, drive-up location where they are greeted in their vehicle by a GreenDrop attendant who unloads their donations and provides a tax-deductible receipt to direct their giving to one of GreenDrop’s partner charities: the Military Order of the Purple Heart or the National Federation of the Blind.

WHO: Samantha Kresz, Community Marketing Coordinator for GreenDrop, will welcome donors to GreenDrop and explain how residents can give back, while also making Middlesex County a greener place to live.

Joseph Ruffalo, Jr., President of the National Federation of the Blind of New Jersey, will share how organizations like the NFB greatly benefit from the generous donations to GreenDrop centers throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.

Joann Falkenstein, Metuchen Borough Representative and Development Commission head, will welcome GreenDrop to the borough and comment on how the organization will positively impact the community.
