It’s understandable people who live in Metuchen love the town. But there’s nothing like a road trip after all the local activities Metuchen had to offer this Summer. We often elaborate on the fact that Metuchen is so centrally located that it’s easy to travel to any point up and down the East Coast. Though not exactly in the neighborhood, Washington DC is always a favorite destination for a weekend of endless museums and an infinite dose of history. So we travelled down I-95 tackling the 203 miles in a 4-hour drive non-stop. What did we do down there? Here’s what…

We did a lot of walking…

we took photos while waiting for the walk light…

we read maps over and over again…

walked in and out of museums…

stared covetingly at priceless Stradivarius violins…

took more pictures…

…of the expansive Washington Mall from our hotel window…

(took more pictures) while resting our feet…then took pictures of…

…a duck…

…memorials…

..the hotel bathroom…

…neatly lined uniformed servicemen…

We did more walking…

HHWW…Held Hands While Walking…

Accidentally joined a rally…

Waited for Sonia Sotomayor…

Listened to music while walking…

Looked at people…

…and birds…

Gushed shamelessly at Julie Child’s original kitchen…

Stared at intricate architecture…

Pretended we were Senators reporting for work…

Walked up and down the stairs of a library…

Stared inside a giant room…

Looked up a lot of ceilings…
