Metuchen Farmers Market Finds a New Home for the 2015 Season in the Senior Center Parking Lot

Opening Day: Saturday, June 13th

June 8, 2015 (Metuchen, NJ) – Metuchen Farmers Market opens Saturday, June 13th for the 2015 season in its temporary new home in the Senior Center parking lot just yards away from its location last year.  The Market is held every Saturday morning, rain or shine, from mid-June – mid November from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.

“We could not be more pleased and grateful with the new partnership with the Metuchen Senior Center,” said Nelson Li, Manager of Metuchen Farmers Market. “Our market has always been committed to making local products available in the downtown core and creating a gathering place for the community. We look forward to continuing this at the Senior Center.”

Just steps away from its permanent home in the Pearl Street Lot, the temporary location will make it easier for both customers and vendors to access the market during the extensive construction project in the Pearl Street Lot. Please note, Center Street traffic will be restricted during market hours.  Parking will be available in the A&P Liquors parking lot.

The Metuchen Farmers Market supports nearly 20 local entrepreneurs who are farmers, producers, bakers, and more who find gratification and success while connecting their livelihood to Metuchen’s suburban community. They offer seasonal fresh fruit, vegetables, meats, poultry, cheese, eggs, flowers, plants, pickles and olives, breads, pastries, nuts and so much more. The Market also offers specialty and artisan foods, makes connections with local community groups, and offers learning opportunities and special programming.

Please join us on opening day June 13th.  All the farmers and vendors who were with us last year will be returning!

Metuchen Farmers’ Market. Smart Food for the Brainy Borough.

The Metuchen Farmers Market has been in existence since 1997, but has enjoyed a revitalization starting 2011, when it grew from a few farmers to more than a dozen top-notch vendors. Proudly presented by the Metuchen Area Chamber of Commerce and managed entirely by community volunteers, The Market hosts four “Jersey Fresh” farmers and other food-first vendors offering cheese, pickles, olives, fresh-baked breads, mozzarella, gluten-free granola, dried fruits/nuts, grass-fed pork, free-range eggs, farmhouse-baked pies and more.
