The old Lehigh Valley railroad corridor has now officially been transformed into the Middlesex Greenway. The Middlesex Greenway evolved by converting the abandoned Lehigh Valley Railroad into a 3.5-mile linear County Park Trail from Crows Mill Road in Woodbridge to Middlesex Avenue in Metuchen. Dedication of the Greenway was held Saturday, September 15, at 11 am at the Metuchen Trailhead, along Middlesex avenue in the Borough of Metuchen.

Middlesex County freeholders and dignitaries including the mayors of Woodbridge, Metuchen, and Edison were on hand for the ceremonies as well as US Senator for New Jersey Robert Menendez. Over a hundred people attended the ribbon cutting ceremony.
It has taken almost 10 years since the property was transferred to Middlesex County for the dream of a greenway to come to fruition. And now it has officially opened for biking, walking, and nature preserve for all county residents to enjoy.
Instrumental in making this project a reality is The Edison Greenways Group who worked to create the first rails-to-trails greenway in Middlesex County, NJ.
