Sixty five Edgar Middle School and Metuchen High School students were treated to an afternoon at the symphony courtesy of two Board of Trustee members of the State Theatre in New Brunswick. The tickets were given to the students without a fee attached. This gift enabled the students to hear a live symphony orchestra, many for the first time.

The Warsaw Philharmonic, from Warsaw Poland captivated the student’s attention from the first note of the Beethoven Piano Concerto (played by a 21 year old who had won the international piano competition in that city when she was just 16!) to the last note of the third encore, John Philip Sousa’s “Stars and Stripes Forever” the students were enthralled.

Thank you to the State Theatre for this enriching adventure!
