bennetOn Sunday, October 26, 2014 at 2 PM, highly acclaimed author Bennett Madison will speak at the Metuchen Public Library, 480 Middlesex Avenue. The program will be of interest to teens and to “new adults,” as well as to those who may want to write for these two important demographics.

Madison is the author of five Young Adult novels.  His most recently published work, September Girls (2013), received rave reviews from four professional library journals and is included on the American Library Association’s prestigious Best Fiction for Young Adults list for 2014.  The Kirkus Review described the novel as “a meditation on manhood [that] takes a turn into magical realism” and as “a not-mermaid story for boys.”  September Girls was nominated by the Science Fiction & Fantasy Writers of America for the Andre Norton Award, their Nebula Award for YA fiction.
Bennett Madison’s presentation at the Library will focus on his books and his journey to become a published author. The Author Visit will include a Question and Answer Session with the audience. Both September Girls and The Blonde of the Joke (2009) will be available for purchase, for those who would like to have a copy personally addressed for them and signed by the author.
Although the Library is usually closed on Sundays, doors will open at 1:45 pm on October 26 for this special event.  Please use the Library Place entrance only. The Author Visit is FREE to the public and paid for by the Friends of the Metuchen Library.  For more information write YA Librarian Katherine Liss at KLiss@Lmxac.org.
