It is hard to believe but the “back to school” season will be upon us in no time. Next to the holiday season, this is the biggest financial stressor for low-income families and as a result many children don’t have the basic school supplies needed to succeed.
As part of our “10 for 10” Celebration, Build with Purpose is helping kids and families in need by providing students in low-income communities with backpacks stuffed with the school essentials- like pencils, pens, rulers, note books-in time for the start of the school year this September.
So many children attend poor or failing, and often dangerous schools, places where learning comes second to safety, where dropout rates exceed graduation rates and where more students end up in prison than college. To help fight these trends and to help ensure the nation’s greatest asset will be successful we are asking you to consider donating to our Backpacks for Kids Campaign.
Every $20.00 donation will provide a child in need with a backpack filled with all the necessary school supplies. We sincerely appreciate your support in the past and hope that you will continue to support our work and the children and communities we serve.
