The students of the Metuchen High School Meal Management and Food Science classes planned, prepared and served a delicious breakfast honoring the Metuchen Crossing Guards. Principal Bruce Peragallo also invited members of Metuchen Town Council), the Police Department, the Board of Education and School Administration. Mr. Peragallo welcomed everyone to the breakfast.
Mayor Tom Vahalla and Police Chief Rob Rentenberg thanked the Guards for their great contributions to the Borough. Superintendent Vince Caputo praised the Guards for keeping the district’s students safe to and from the schools. He said, “Metuchen is an extremely environmentally-conscious community. Many students walk or ride bikes. The Crossing Guards provide a vital resource for the district.” Guests were served Pumpkin Spice Muffins and Fresh Fruit Parfaits, while the buffet included hearty breakfast foods—Scrambled Eggs, Crispy Bacon, Potato & Chive Home Fries, and Challah French Toast. The event was a wonderful way for students and Community Leaders to say “Thank You” to our Crossing Guards who help keep Metuchen students and residents safe!
