Photographs, taken in 1948, of the Metuchen Memorial Day Parade. The Metuchen High School twirlers and band members led the parade down Main Street. Then, the parade was considered one of the largest in the history of the borough. All of the area schools were represented, as well as veterans and veterans’ groups, fire, police and rescue squads, and Girl Scouts. The line of march ended at Memorial Park, where fallen American military personnel were honored. Photo Courtesy of the Metuchen-Edison Historical Society
