With over a decade of writing songs and four albums under her belt, contemporary folk singer/songwriter Sharon Goldman is changing her tune – just a little bit. Well-known around the New York City area and around the East Coast for her sophisticated brand of acoustic folk/pop, Goldman’s new album, Sleepless Lullaby, offers a few twists – with a bit of country and Americana thrown into the melodious mix.

Sleepless Lullaby also features guest musicians/ performers Pat Wictor, Carolann Solebello (formerly of Red Molly), Cheryl Prashker, Meg Braun and Thad Debrock (Duncan Sheik, Ari Hest, Spring Awakening).

Lili Kuzma, host of Folk Festival on WDCB Public Radio in Chicagoland, calls Sleepless Lullaby “a totally enjoyable listen…I love her clear voice and truly interesting songs – nicely crafted contemporary folk with hints of pop.”

A Long Island native and two-decade-long New York City resident, Goldman recently returned to the suburbs – this time in Metuchen, New Jersey – and continues to pour her passion into songwriting, yielding intelligent, melodic and bittersweet songs of love, loss, identity and memories, which are steadily garnering a following of listeners eager for the lyrical substance and strong musicianship they miss on commercial radio. She also writes a popular blog about songwriting, SongwritingScene.com.

Sleepless Lullaby is also a return for Goldman to solo recording and performance; her most recent project, the 2009 self-titled Sweet Bitters, was a critically-acclaimed folk/pop harmony duo (with the now Portland, Maine based Nina Schmir). Sharon Panaro, host of Regional Frequency Radio, WVKR in Vassar, NY, said that Sweet Bitters offered “great songwriting and amazing talents.”
