On Sunday July 29, swimmers of all skill levels, from age 4 to 62 joined in the annual Metuchen Pool ‘swimathon’ hosted by Swim Across America, a non profit dedicated to raising money for cancer research, prevention & treatment. Since 2008, the Metuchen Municipal Pool Swim and Dive Team has been spearheading the annual event. This year, approximately 115 swimmers took part, raising more than $9,000. Craig Beardsley, a former world record holder and U.S. Olympic swim team member was there to cheer on the participants.

In four years the MMP Swim & Dive Team has swam over 650 miles, raising over $30,000 for cancer research, treatment and prevention.
