After a long and often weather-confused winter….Spring has officially sprung and Downtown Metuchen is ready for you and your family with deals, steals and of course, an Easter egg hunt!

Come out to Downtown Metuchen Saturday April 1st and Saturday April 8th as Metuchen’s retailers kick off the spring season with deals and offers for the whole family as part of the Metuchen Downtown Alliance’s “Shop Small Saturdays” where retailers will be offering special sales and offers.

“Shopping local is more than just a transaction. Metuchen’s small businesses have been an integral piece of the fabric of the community for generations and have been part of local community events, school events, weddings, graduations, proms and everything in-between! When you shop local, you’re supporting your local economy, local workers, and businesses that have invested in your Downtown and hope to continue to do so. We ‘re excited about  “Shop Small Saturday” as there will be so many great values to be had at all the local stores starting a tradition we hope to continue throughout the year.” – From Gary Tilbor, owner of See-More Appliances and Leon Schwartz, owner of Carpet Maven II & organizers of the event.

In addition to the Small Business Saturday sales, on Saturday April 8th, Metuchen will be hosting their annual Town-wide Garage Sale and at 10am will be hosting a Downtown Easter Egg hunt! Stop by your favorite stores & restaurants and hunt out some Easter eggs with treats for the whole family; candy for the kids and deals and steals inside the eggs for the adults!

The Metuchen Downtown Alliance loves the environment as much as we love our Downtown & this year’s eggs are made in the USA by Eco-eggs (www.https://ecoeggs.com/). These special eggs are plant based and biodegradable in a standard compost bin in about 6 months. Downtown Metuchen hopes to prove that shopping local is great for you, your wallet AND the environment!

Eggs will be placed throughout the Downtown and inside select stores and we encourage everyone to “Spring into Downtown” and visit your local retailers, have a chat, and find some hidden treasures!
