Dragonfly Multicultural Arts Center will be holding auditions for the company’s next production, Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream.  Auditions will be held at the Forum Theatre on Saturday, June 20 from 11:00 am–3:30 pm, and Sunday, June 21 from 12 noon–3:00 pm.

All roles are available and, while most of the parts will be cast with adults, some of the fairy roles may be cast with teens or preteens.  A number of the roles can be played by male or female actors.  Characters include a mischievous sprite, the king and queen of the fairies, young lovers, comedic craftsmen/actors, beautiful fairies, and others.  Performers of all racial and ethnic backgrounds are encouraged to audition.

For the audition, actors may prepare a monologue from the play.  Examples are available on the Dragonfly web site—DragonflyArtsNJ.com—but sides will also be available at the audition.

Rehearsals will be evenings and weekends at the Forum Theatre, beginning June 27.

Performances will be August 21 and 22 at Metuchen’s Reformed Church.
